Scandal In Belgravia Scene Analysis

To start off with, OTS (Over The Shoulder) shots are used to help visualise the dialog taking place. It helps the audience to get engrossed in the conversation. It also shows the emotion of the person that is being focused on (ie, Irene Adler) where you can see her crying.

An ECU (Extreme Close Up)  is used to show him beginning to type the passcode into her phone. This phone is not even shown at one point, but you can sense by his body language when he types in the letter. That scene helps foreshadow, what tell the audience what he is doing throughout the dialog.

A WS (Wide Shot) is used at one point to establish again where they are are, and it shows Irene quickly clutching onto the phone, to stop Sherlock from finishing the password, something that you would not of seen if they used a OTS. It also shows Sherlock's brother Microft in the background, reminding the audience that he is still present and watching the mystery unravel.
